Sandoz, the generic and biosimilar medicines division of the Novartis Group, announced the launch of Sandoz HACk – Healthcare Access Challenge – a global competition that aims to engage young people to promote innovative ideas and solutions to help solve healthcare access problems across the world. the world.
 
People, between 18 and 35 years old, with an idea to create an application, mobile service or some other technology that can help people who do not have access to medicines can participate in the competition. Registration is open until November 30, 2016.
 
 “Sandoz's global survey on the perception of access to healthcare involving 12 nations showed that Brazilians are among the most concerned about the issue in their own country. Therefore, a joint effort from different sectors is necessary in the search for collaborative solutions”, says André Brázay, general director of Sandoz Brasil.
 
Entrants' ideas will be chosen and developed in partnership with the online community before being presented to a panel of judges.
Through an evaluation process, six finalist projects will be published on OpenIDEO – a global community that brings together leading organizations and individuals working together to provide solutions to the world's biggest healthcare challenges. The OpenIDEO team will help finalists build, develop and refine their ideas so they are ready for the next stage of the competition.
 
In addition, they will receive guidance from the Sandoz team, which will also offer a group of expert mentors in the areas of marketing, communication, project management, finance and business to help consolidate the idea.
 
After these steps, the finalists will be invited to participate in WIRED Saúde 2017, in London, to present their projects. WIRED Health is a global event that discusses innovative solutions for the healthcare sector. In its fourth edition, this event will feature around 300 doctors, renowned healthcare executives, scientists and investors who are interested in exploring the evolution and future of the healthcare sector.
