Samsung and Anprotec announced the public call to select new entrepreneurs and projects for the third round of the Creative Economy Promotion Program, the result of a collaboration between the company, the Association and the South Korean Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CCEI) , with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC).

“In this round, the number of vacancies in the program was expanded to up to 20 startups and the investment can reach R$ 250 thousand per venture”, highlights Antonio Marcon, Samsung Research & Development manager and national coordinator of the program. “Another great novelty is the institutional expansion of the program, which now has a partnership with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), encouraging innovative projects also in the area of Digital Agriculture, in addition to preserving other technological areas already fostered by the program, such as Mobility , Virtual Reality, Digital Health and Digital Education. We are very optimistic about the technological possibilities and potential business that could emerge from this new alliance.”

“Digital agriculture aims to employ information and communication technologies, in addition to high-performance computational methods, sensor networking, communication and connectivity between machines and mobile devices, cloud computing and analytical solutions to process large volumes of data, build support for decision-making in planning and management throughout the agricultural value chain”, says Silvia Massruhá, general manager of Embrapa Informática Agropecuária. “Our expectation is to stimulate innovation, with the introduction of new technological solutions, to support sustainable production and consumption, in order to guarantee food security for future generations”, he adds.

Upon joining the program, the selected companies receive financial support and a wide package of conveniences aimed at technological and marketing improvement of their products and services. Among the activities, we highlight access to technologies and research and development laboratories, training, advisory, mentoring, networking and investor networks.

“Participants in this stage will also benefit from an expanded network of business incubators distributed throughout the national territory. Another factor to note is that, in this edition, business accelerators can also join the program, that is, startups will simultaneously have the integrated support of business incubators and accelerators”, says Sheila Oliveira Pires, Executive Director of Anprotec.

Candidates from all over Brazil interested in participating in the program can apply until August 20 on the portal http://anprotec.org.br/samsung.

To register, startups must present their product or service projects in one or more areas of interest to the program. The submitted proposals will be evaluated by a specialized panel, formed by committees of executives from Samsung, Anprotec, Embrapa and the network of accredited incubators.

Integrated Incubators and Accelerators

The companies selected in this round will be invited to incubate their projects for the duration of the program in one of the accredited incubators and accelerators throughout the national territory. Enterprises from regions and municipalities other than the regions of the incubators and accelerators can also compete and, if selected, will be transferred to a unit recommended by the program's management committee during the incubation period.
