If the problems of getting from one point to another, finding the best routes, even with multiple destinations, seem to have been solved in our daily lives, through transit applications, for a logistics operation, they remain complex. It is necessary to define the most appropriate planning, the number of vehicles that will make the trips, what to transport in each one, monitor them in real time, have information about the occurrences, among other diverse possibilities - all this, with a focus on reducing costs and thinking about process optimization. It is for these specific needs that the R2 offering hits the market. Launched by Totvs, the solution combines two important “R's” for the logistics activity: routing and tracking.

It is a specialized application, which is already born in the cloud, in the subscription model of the company, Intera, proposing the monthly fee as its form of contracting. Looking at the routine of companies, there is already a professional dedicated to this function, called a planner – he is responsible for assembling loads, organizing orders, evaluating the fleet and defining the most suitable circuit for deliveries. However, with the help of technology, he will certainly choose the best ways to carry out this execution.

R2 comes to transform this scenario and put smart planning into practice. Based on algorithms and simulations, it suggests the most correct delivery sequence, combining products, addresses and fleet arrangement, through mathematical logic. The results obtained are around 20% reduction in the number of vehicles used and around 15% in the total distances traveled - which leads to a consequent decrease in fuel consumption and, it is worth mentioning, also in the emission of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Other benefits are the increase of up to 10% in the average occupancy of the fleet in trips, in addition to a reduction of approximately 60% in the time spent to define the plan that will be executed and a drop of up to 15% in the total logistics cost.

The tool pulls data from the management software, with all the orders that have been made, and returns with a planning proposal, based on the company's commercial and logistical rules - which can be fully parameterized, according to each type of business. . The process takes about ten minutes, but its features are not limited to that. In addition to providing the best strategy for routing, R2 becomes the interface for the logistical planner, which can even add other systems to work together. The application is also flexible, allowing the professional to make manual adjustments or even choose to postpone an action to wait for a new batch of orders, for example.

Tracking

Moving on to the other R of the offering, Tracking, it is not limited to real-time tracking of vehicles. The solution was developed to run on a mobile application for the driver, which can report - directly on their mobile device - all the status of deliveries, in addition to transport occurrences that may occur during the trip, such as a not found recipient, a accident or cargo damage, for example. The app also allows you to scan the delivery receipt and even collect the virtual signature of the person receiving the goods.

All this information becomes available to the company – as it happens. This means giving visibility to the manager, who can have a quick response time to take corrective or preventive actions – and even to position customers who want information about their orders.

The R2 offer is fully integrated with other Totvs solutions, ensuring fluidity, without the need for data transcription. In addition, it is already prepared to communicate with the main market trackers and has a scalability accessory, which allows connection to any other equipment, even those that are not on this main list.

“When it comes to distribution logistics, the pressure for shorter delivery times is very high. However, this is just the tip of the operation – the manager needs to look at the whole, in search of greater efficiency in all his routines. And it is to allow technologies to actually help businesses that we have developed such specialized solutions, such as the R2 offering. It comes to enable more strategic actions and, with that, raise the level of service and competitiveness of companies, because whoever has this intelligence as an ally, will certainly come out ahead", concludes Angela Gheller Telles, director of the Manufacturing and Logistics segments at Totvs.
