By the end of 2013, Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, will have a new Professional Training Center in Software. The initiative was implemented through the Local Productive Arrangement (APL), promoted between the Software Industrial Pole (PISO) with the Secretariat for Economic Development, Science and Technology and the Ribeirão Preto Advanced Health Pole Institute Foundation (FIPASE).

The new Ribeirão Preto Training Center will be installed in the Technological Park that is under construction in an area of the University of São Paulo. The main objective is to enable the scientific and technological development of the region, with research and innovation.

The Government of the State of São Paulo will invest R$ 130 thousand to finance the structure of the Training Center. Courses are due to start in January 2014 and teachers will be hired by PISO. The courses will last two to three months. All classrooms will have a capacity of up to 30 students.

All training and training courses in the IT area promoted by the new training center will be free of charge. The center will also promote the improvement of professionals from companies associated with the PISO, in addition to professional recycling for entrepreneurs.

“Today, one of the biggest challenges facing IT companies is the shortage of manpower. Now, with the new center, we will be able to deliver more qualified professionals to organizations. This represents an enormous advance, achieved with our efforts and that of our partners”, justifies Flávio de Barros, president of PISO and Consinco,

Currently, PISO has 43 member companies. The group's turnover in 2012 was R$ 230 million, with two thousand direct jobs. The estimate for 2013 is a growth of 20%.

The hub brings together companies of different sizes, with staff ranging from seven to 270 employees and annual revenue from R$ 300 thousand to R$ 50 million. The FLOOR companies are located in the Ribeirão Preto region, which also covers the cities of Franca, Araraquara, Sertãozinho, Jaboticabal, Cravinhos and São Joaquim da Barra.
