There are 40 vacancies for the free and online course, which is offered for the first time and aimed at women from all over Brazil

THE {reprogram}, a social impact initiative that focuses on teaching programming to women in situations of social and economic vulnerability, prioritizing black, trans and transvestite women, registration is open for the Python course: fundamentals and data analysis. The opportunity is free, online and aimed at women from all over Brazil, over 18 years old, with little or no programming knowledge, and who are interested in working in the information technology sector. In total, 40 vacancies are offered and registration is open until June 6, through the link https://www.reprograma.com.br/python.html .

According to Nadja Brandão, Executive Director of {reprograma}, this is the first time, in seven years of history, that a course focusing on Python is offered. “It is an unprecedented opportunity and, more than training new professionals, we want to help them win their first job in the technology sector, so that more and more women can conquer spaces and serve as inspiration for others”, she explains. 

The course aims to professionally qualify women who wish to make the career transition to the technology market, as programmers, in particular junior data analysis programming, and has the support of B3 Social, a non-profit association responsible for Private Social Investment (ISP) and BR Volunteering fronts, whose purpose is to contribute, through education, to the reduction of social inequalities in Brazil. 

Entries can be made by all people who identify with the female gender, therefore, cisgender, trans or transvestite women who are fully available to attend classes. Candidates will be evaluated throughout the selection process according to the following evaluation criteria: motivation, quality of application, coherence of information, empathy, inclusion, critical thinking, familiarity with the topic of diversity and potential impact of the course on the candidate's life. 

After the end of registration, the selected ones will be announced on June 21st. The course will take place from August 5th to December 8th, with content classes on Saturdays, from 9 am to 5 pm. The review classes will take place on Mondays, from 8 pm to 10 pm and, in addition, the students will have the option of participating in the study groups, on Tuesdays, from 7 pm to 8 pm. Socio-emotional orientations will also take place on Tuesdays, from 20:00 to 22:00.

In 2021, {reprograma} participated in the Google Impact Challenge for Women and Girls, and was one of 34 NGOs selected to receive financial support of US$ 1 million.
