The new group aims to identify best practices, foster innovation and guide companies interested in migrating their solutions to the software as a service marketing model

ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) announces the creation of a new committee, now focused on the needs of the Brazilian market in relation to the SaaS marketing model - Software as a Service (Software as a Service). The new group aims to identify best practices, foster innovation and guide companies interested in migrating their solutions to the sales-as-a-service format. The entity also has the purpose of developing a certification that demonstrates the maturity of software companies in relation to SaaS.

According to Carlos Sacco, Marketing Director at ABES, thanks to the explosion of mobility, the current 'consumerization' of the software has brought thousands of new developers, new forms of delivery, high scale, low prices and directly impacted professionals and companies in the segment.

“With this new scenario, manufacturers and developers need a quick and deep strategic repositioning to understand and know how to position themselves on issues related to governance, application architecture, coding, cost redefinition, pricing, analysis of consumer behavior and dynamics the market ”, highlights Carlos Sacco.

The first activity of the Committee will be a survey of associates to identify the maturity of both the company in being prepared for the cloud business model - which among other aspects substantially changes the cash flow - and the solutions offered, from the point of view technician.

The Committee's coordinator, Lauro de Lauro, Dualtec's CEO, explains that, in addition to making the entity a reference in the market on the best SaaS practices and supporting members in the process of transition of the business model of the on-premise for SaaS, the group aims to create a certification that demonstrates the maturity of software companies in relation to this new model.

"With this certification, our goal is to educate the market about the particularities of this business model, thus ensuring that the contracting company makes the choice for a supplier that follows the best practices and standards for SaaS," says Lauro.

The new committee is open to the participation of more ABES members and already has Alexandre Soncini and Rafael Forte, from Vtex; Boris Kuszka and Fernanda Escobar, from RedHat; Francisco Camargo, from CLM; Onivaldo Roncatti and Leonardo Noshi, from Business Station; Ricardo Ogata, from Cisco; in addition to its coordinator, Lauro de Lauro, from Dualtec, and that of the Marketing Director at ABES, Carlos Sacco.
