Experian has been recognized as a Top Scorer in the Disability Equality Index®, the leading international index for evaluating inclusive practices in the corporate environment. The company achieved the highest scores in Brazil for the first time, in the United States for the fourth consecutive year, and in the United Kingdom for the second year.
"This is a very special milestone for us, especially in a year in which we were also recognized here in Brazil by GPTW Diversity 2024, in the category of People with Disabilities. Being among the Disability Equality Index®'s international highlights reinforces our commitment to diversity and inclusion and highlights the progress we've made in building an increasingly diverse and accessible environment," says Valdemir Bertolo, CEO of Serasa Experian and Global Sponsor of Inclusion and Accessibility at Experian.
Diversity and Inclusion in Practice
Experian develops initiatives to promote a barrier-free workplace, reinforcing an inclusive culture in all regions where it operates, which includes 32 countries around the world. For example, the new office in Brazil features tactile and warning flooring, braille identification, and equipment designed to accommodate everyone. In India, it was built with accessibility in mind, with wheelchair-friendly design, elevators, braille signage, and quiet zones to support neurodiverse colleagues. In the US, employees participated in the annual Disability:IN conference, learning and sharing best practices in inclusion and accessibility.
In Brazil, Serasa Experian has increasingly established itself as a benchmark in accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities (PwD), with structured initiatives that directly contributed to its recognition in the Disability Equality Index®. Among the most significant advances are:
Equity in hiring and active listening
- 5.3% of Serasa Experian employees are people with disabilities, in line with the percentage required by Brazilian legislation.
- The company conducts annual internal surveys with PwD employees to hear their perceptions and improve practices. In 2025, the average satisfaction score was 9.01 on a scale of 0 to 10.
Visibility and inclusive culture
The company's initiatives also include:
- Implementation of the sunflower chain, an international symbol of identification for people with hidden disabilities, promoting acceptance and awareness.
- Educational initiatives such as the Autism Day campaign, with a webinar and practical guide for the inclusion of autistic individuals in the workplace.
Assistive resources and technologies
- Providing solutions such as screen readers, noise-canceling headphones, sign language interpreters, iPhones with accessibility features, and other adapted equipment to ensure autonomy in daily life.
Accessible environments
- Active participation in the global “Barrier-Free Workplace” project, aiming to create an accessibility standard in Experian offices around the world.
- The company's visual identity, including its institutional color palette, was developed with a focus on contrast and legibility for people with visual impairments.
Institutional commitments
- Serasa Experian is part of the Business Network for Social Inclusion (REIS), reinforcing its commitment to good corporate diversity practices.
"We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting inclusion in a structured, consistent manner that has a real impact on people's lives. Recognitions like this inspire us to go further, continually investing in policies, programs, and actions that ensure an accessible, representative, and fair environment for all people, in all our operations around the world," reinforces Valdemir Bertolo.
