Technological MIDI Incubator took first place in Promotion of the Culture of Entrepreneurship and Nanovectors, installed at CELTA, chosen as the best incubated company in the country.

Two initiatives from Santa Catarina stood out in the 18th National Innovative Entrepreneurship Award, whose winners were announced by the National Association of Entities Promoting Innovative Entrepreneurship (Anprotec), this Wednesday (3rd), in Brasília. MIDI Tecnológico, an incubator managed by the Associação Catarinense de Empresas de Tecnologia (ACATE) and maintained by Sebrae/SC, took first place in the Best Project for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship Culture (CEI) category, with the MIDI & Mercado project. The winner of the Best Incubated Company (EI) category was Nanovetores, from the Laboration Center for Advanced Technologies (Celta). Both based in Florianópolis (SC), the companies received trophies and certificates, in addition to a cash prize ranging from R$ 5,000 to R$ 15,000.

MIDI & Mercado's goal is to improve the incubation process, accelerating the insertion of the incubated companies' products and services in the market. The program is based on two pillars: business development, aimed at the internal maturation of organizations; and market opening, aimed at promoting partnerships, increasing the network of contacts and connecting the incubated company with potential clients. In practice, MIDI companies were able to rely on consultants in strategic areas, such as communication and marketing, human resources, accounting, legal, among others. The incubator also offered a series of courses and mentorships in 2014 and implemented the Sponsorship Program, which brings new companies closer to experienced entrepreneurs, who work in common areas.

According to MIDI's general coordinator, Gabriel Sant'Ana Palma Santos, the development of the project took place in the context of the new phase of the incubator, called MIDI 2.0. “We established a set of processes and management practices, in addition to new mechanisms for selection, development and monitoring of incubated projects, to improve the performance of nascent companies and guarantee their survival”. For Sant'Ana, other actions that supported the development of the culture of entrepreneurship in the incubator were the implementation of the Entrepreneur Development Program and the Strategic Management Program.

Nanovetores, focused on the development of cosmetic lines based on nanotechnology, has been incubating at CELTA since August 2009. In the election made by Anprotec, criteria such as the evolution and revenue of the company in recent years, the innovative of the product or process and its suitability to environmental requirements. Nanovetores products use high-efficiency nano- and micro-encapsulated ingredients, differentiated technology in the cosmetic sector, and the materials used are biocompatible and biosoluble – following the principles of natural and sustainable innovation. For CELTA's director, Tony Chierighini, the Anprotec award is a recognition not only of the company's quality, but of the services that the incubator provides for the growth of the enterprise and for the quality of the products that the company offers.
