Progress has just announced the latest version of the Telerik Platform, a cross-platform mobile application development solution for building web, native and hybrid mobile applications quickly and easily. With this latest release, the Telerik Platform includes key elements for companies to opt for low-code development, both for developers and corporate technical users.

The platform also favors the use of enterprise mobile backend as a service (or mBaaS – Mobile Backend as a Service) to simplify data integration and synchronization; and brings a native development framework to provide complete flexibility in development.

With the launch, companies can now rely on an easy-to-use solution (on-premise or in the cloud) that leverages existing developer skills, along with device-agnostic support, security, scalability, and flexibility.

"We understand that companies need to adopt an enterprise-grade mobile platform that is trusted by the developer community, yet easy enough for the corporate technical user to use," says Karen Tegan Padir, President of the Application Development and Deployment Unit at Progress "Based on a decade-long relationship with the developer community, Telerik has built a user base of 1.7 million. The components of its Telerik platform are already in use by over 65,000 customers, with over 20,000 applications deployed. around the world, completes the executive.

New Telerik Platform components include:

• Screen Builder: Enables low-code development for enterprise technical developers and users to work side-by-side in mobile application development efforts. Users of all development skills can visually create and configure screens from a set of pre-defined templates, as well as easily and securely connect to enterprise data, without the need to write new code. With Screen Builder, users can quickly generate functional hybrid and native mobile applications. In addition, applications can be modified and extended at any time with integration with Telerik AppBuilder.

• AppManager LiveSync: Allows companies to release updates to applications in production without going through app store approval. Users can now get immediate, real-time, non-disruptive updates, features and fixes. AppManager LiveSync works with applications available from iOS, Google Play and Windows stores.

• Analytics: provides real-time user analysis and integrates user feedback directly into the Telerik Platform workflow development. Offers custom user reports and dashboards to ensure IT staff and development managers are getting the right level of information where and how they need it.

In conjunction with the built-in support of the Telerik Platform, companies can use the NativeScript framework with components such as Screen Builder, AppManager and LiveSync to build and deploy a wide variety of applications, taking advantage of their choice to develop within a single platform.
