With resources in the order of up to R$ 18 million, each selected project may receive up to R$ 500 thousand grants

The TechD Program, launched by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) in partnership with Softex, announces the result of the public call for applications for startups, ICT companies, research groups and national and international consortia interested in providing technology for anchor companies and Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (ICTs), R&D centers and participating universities within four thematic areas: IoT, Health, Energy and Mobility.

“During the submission period, which ended in June, we received 621 applications and after the phase of document analysis and qualification with the evaluation boards, 182 projects were selected”, highlights Diônes Lima, vice president of Softex.

In its first phase, TechD signed 22 agreements with Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (ICTs), universities and R&D centers spread over 13 states, enabling support in all regions of the country. In the second stage, 36 medium and large companies interested in testing technologies through open innovation processes were confirmed - the so-called anchor companies, including Braskem, Embraer, Furukawa, Klabin, Marcopolo, Positivo, Sercomtel and Votorantim.

Paulo Alvim, MCTIC's secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, explains that TechD is now starting the evaluation phase of research projects by ICCs and anchor companies. “Next, we will take steps between the startups, R&D centers, universities and participating companies. In this semester, the terms of cooperation for the beginning of the works will be signed. The Program's mission is to create this bridge between the entrepreneurial and research universe, contributing to the development of technologies with greater added value ”, he points out.

With resources in the order of up to R$ 18 million, TechD foresees the granting of up to R$ 500 thousand of subsidies added to possible investments of up to 2 million that the companies already qualified will contribute by selected technology project. It also allows companies to offer financial compensation for projects of interest, who are partners or obtain exclusivity in the use of the solutions that will be implemented.

For its realization, the TechD program relies on the strategic partnerships of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), the National Association of Entities Promoting Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
