With the aim of qualifying more than 30,000 professionals in the areas of information security and privacy, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) announces the launch of the program good hackers this Monday, May 22nd.

Under the coordination of Softex, it will be carried out by the National Teaching and Research Network (RNP) in partnership with SENAI-SP. It will count on R$ 30 million in resources from the ICT Law through the Priority National Innovation Program (PPI).

“The Hackers do Bem Program has a strategic value for Brazil by directly contributing to professional qualification – which raises the school index – and by structuring elements that strengthen the cybersecurity ecosystem. The results range from the country's advances in a critical area that holistically affects different economic sectors and that are also reflected in society and in the lives of citizens”, evaluates the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Luciana Santos.

Free of charge, the program will initially offer five courses at the leveling, basic, fundamental, specialized and technological residency levels for technical, secondary and higher education students, technology professionals seeking specialization and for those looking to migrate from another area. In the first phase alone, it intends to recruit at least 30,000 students.

During training, they will have access to live classes, theoretical and practical exercises using simulators, videos and other resources. The courses are academically coordinated by Senai-SP and the Escola Superior de Redes (ESR), RNP's training arm, which has more than 17 years of expertise in professional training in ICT.

“In Brazil alone, there are more than 300 thousand vacancies that are not filled due to lack of cybersecurity professionals. Hackers do Bem, in addition to developing skills in cybersecurity, impacting the market and all sectors, establishes mechanisms for integration and synergy with different actors in the teaching, research, innovation and information security ecosystems”, explains the deputy director of RNP Cybersecurity, Emilio Nakamura.

The Hackers do Bem program also provides for the promotion of an innovation ecosystem in cybersecurity for training entrepreneurs in the area, development of R&D projects and the implementation of a national hub for this segment, involving institutions, associations, government, regulators, accelerators, companies , startups, entrepreneurs and students.

For Ruben Delgado, president of Softex, “in addition to contributing to the rapid reduction of professionals in the area, the program will collaborate to build an innovative national cybersecurity industry, supported by research and high-level scientific production, capable of retaining talent that can feed back the knowledge production cycle, thus strengthening the entire ecosystem”.

“Digitalization is an important tool in the industry's competitiveness agenda, and cybersecurity professionals are fundamental to protecting companies from the vulnerabilities of the digital environment. With this program, together, we will impact a large number of people, creating jobs and providing the trained people that the industry needs”, guarantees the regional director of Senai-SP, Ricardo Figueiredo Terra.
