Nagi Digital will select 15 entities. Objective is to structure an innovation management network for the digital transformation of the productive sector, even more accelerated in the midst of the pandemic

THE National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) opened a call to select institutions interested in improving innovation management (IM) methodologies with a focus on the digital transformation of the productive sector. The project, carried out with the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Studies and Projects Financier (Finep), will select up to 15 entities. In addition to the initial investment allocated in the selection and conceptual alignment of the participating entities, a resource was approved for the second phase of the project, in order for the institutions to carry out a pilot project in companies.

Registration for the call for the Innovation Management Support Centers for Digital Transformation program for the productive sector, known as Nagi Digital, can be made on the project website (http://www.portaldaindustria.com.br/cni/canais/ mei / programa-mei / nagi-digital /) from Monday (25).

According to CNI's Innovation Director, Gianna Sagazio, the objective of the partnership is to enable institutions with expertise in innovation management to be propagators of innovative methods with technological maturity. “The global crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic is accelerating the ongoing digital transformation, bringing new responses and solutions, including business,” says Gianna Sagazio.

"For this to be possible, it is necessary for organizations to redefine their strategies, incorporating technology as a key element of business and integrating operations and human capital in digital processes", adds the director of CNI.

For MCTIC's secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Paulo Alvim, it is indisputable that technological innovation has brought new paradigms for the development of states and nations, and will necessarily pass through the 4th industrial revolution, which brings to its core the culture of interconnectivity, interoperability and integration. "This will involve not just one, but a set of enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, big data, cloud computing and others," he says.

Paulo Alvim observes that public policies will be strong allies in the process of contribution and encouragement for companies to prepare for this new reality. “The Nagi Digital project represents a major advance in this regard, developing actions for companies to enter into this context of digital transformation, through the adoption of systematic innovation processes”, he points out. "This should not happen in isolation, but within a continuous and efficient evolution of innovation management aiming at increasing the productivity and competitiveness of the national industry, and its insertion in the digital transformation ecosystem", completes the MCTIC secretary.

Transition to digital transformation and the Industry 4.0 environment

The choice of institutions to register for the call will be the responsibility of the Evaluation and Monitoring Committee, which will be formed by representatives from CNI, MCTIC, CNPq, Finep and the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI), and by invited experts. According to the announcement, the selected entities will undergo a stage of conceptual alignment and harmonization of IM methodologies focusing on the process of digital transformation of the companies' productive sector, for their transition to the Industry 4.0 environment and increased productivity.

In CNI's assessment, the digital transformation and the impacts of Industry 4.0 on productivity, cost reduction, control of the production process and customization of production point to a profound transformation in business and manufacturing plants. The CNI considers that the incipience of the policy to promote Industry 4.0 in Brazil limits the number of institutions that contribute significantly to the implementation of initiatives to support advanced production in the country.

“More than technology, digital transformation has to do with organizational culture. The Nagi Digital Network is a complementary initiative, aimed at structuring the Network of Support Groups for Innovation Management and leveling concepts for adapting methodologies and tools of participating institutions, for the digital transformation of the productive sector ”, highlights the director of Innovation at CNI.

Direct benefits for selected institutions

Among the advantages of participating in the Nagi Digital network are the exchange of information and learning with the other institutions participating in the project; the validation of the GI methodology for digital transformation and insertion in the Industry 4.0 ecosystem; participation in harmonizing concepts, good practices, indicators and tools in IM; and the availability of resources to carry out a pilot project in companies.
