Registration for the 2013 edition of the FINEP Innovation Award🇧🇷 This year, from R$ 100,000 to R$ 500,000 will be made available to the regional and national first placed in each category, totaling R$ 8 million. The Award has the support of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), the newspaper O Globo, and the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
There are nine categories: Micro and Small Company, Medium Company, Large Company (only in the national stage), Science and Technology Institution, Social Technology, Innovative Inventor, Assistive Technology, Sustainable Innovation and Inovar Funds – also restricted to the national stage and divided into three subcategories – Governance, Staff and Operation.
After registration, there will be a pre-qualification stage, in which an analysis will be made regarding the completion of the form, as well as in relation to meeting the profile, the conditions of participation and the categories provided for in the regulation. Then, during the regional judging, the pre-qualified proposals will be evaluated by jury committees composed of experts, representatives of innovative institutions, the business sector and FINEP. The winners of each region will be awarded in a joint ceremony, held in Rio de Janeiro. The first placed in this phase compete for the national final, which will take place at the Planalto Palace, in Brasília. During the month of April, there will also be two workshops for partners of the Award.
The FINEP Award is the most important instrument for encouraging and recognizing innovation in the country. Since 1998, it has already awarded more than 500 companies, institutions and individuals, being responsible for projecting the recipients not only in Brazil, but also abroad. In 2012, there were 588 entries.
