Rio do Sul receives pilot project that gives more autonomy to citizens

Technology is making the citizens of Rio do Sul, in Alto Vale do Itajaí (SC), go less and less to the city hall in search of documents or services. From the end of February, the city receives a pilot project that wants to give more autonomy to residents, civil servants and municipal managers: the Self-service Portal. The novelty is based on cloud computing — one of the most modern and secure ways to store, process and make information available.

The portal can be accessed at the Rio do Sul City Hall address on the internet. The site will centralize all the services offered by the entities in an easy and dynamic way. To access it, the user will have a login that can be created online. In this way, he will have a personalized area linked to his account, similar to the internet banking of financial institutions. The system is able to “recognise” the user from the login performed – that is, the service options most used by him and/or that meet the characteristics of his registration are already presented.

“By accessing the portal, the resident can now request the main services that generate the most internal demand, such as cutting down trees, vacancies in day care centers or schools, licensing for civil construction, issuance of a Debt Clearance Certificate or tax collection guides. , such as the IPTU”, says the coordinator of the Self-Service Portal at IPM Sistemas, Pâmela Eichholz. The company, from Santa Catarina, is a specialist in the development of solutions for public management based on cloud computing. In addition to these functions, the system provides alerts on citizen's debts with the municipality, contributing to the collection.

As the new platform serves all audiences that interact with the city hall, there are categories of services aimed at residents, companies, suppliers and public servants. Entrepreneurs, for example, can carry out tasks that range from issuing guides for the collection of the Eventual Service Tax (ISS) to submitting a bid proposal. Another group of functions allows public servants to request licenses, monitor selection processes and request transfers.

Soon, the Self-Service Portal will be made available to other cities that already use the Citizen's Portal. The update is simple and fast, done over the internet.
