The City of São Paulo encourages innovation in the Capital with the launch of the new edition of the award that values new solutions for the efficient management of the city and good practices of the municipal administration itself. Premia Sampa has categories for both public servants and civil society organizations, as well as startups, universities and companies.

"We are here today to launch this award that demonstrates that there are several initiatives that are not only idealized within the mayor's or secretary's office, as we have a series of civil servants, who think about innovation and technology, and, with this program, , we encourage all of them, demonstrating that the City Hall will support and reward them, so that these good initiatives can be replicated to other portfolios, secretariats and other city halls", said the mayor, Bruno Covas.

With the objective of valuing initiatives that contribute to the improvement of the public service and to the creation of a culture of innovation in the City Hall, the categories "Innovation in Internal Processes" and "Innovation in Public Services and Policies" are intended for members of the direct administration and indirectly, as well as representatives of the Municipal Chamber of São Paulo and the Court of Auditors of the Municipality of São Paulo.

“Good ideas and innovative projects can be anywhere. We need to mobilize public servants around this theme, inspiring the creation of a true network of innovation, which can happen in education, culture, leisure or even in the administrative area”, explains Sérgio Avelleda, Municipal Secretary of Management.

To disseminate the culture of innovation in the city, the “Open Innovation” category allows the indication of projects by representatives of civil society, such as companies, startups, social and educational organizations, that use public data or that have been developed in partnership with municipal.

“We want to transform São Paulo into one of the main innovation hubs in Latin America. The participation and contribution of society in indicating innovative solutions to the city's problems is a fundamental part of this process”, adds Daniel Annenberg, Municipal Secretary of Innovation and Technology.

Detailed information about registration, which can be made until September 3, as well as the evaluation criteria are available at premiasampa.prefeitura.sp.gov.br.
