Porto Digital – internationally recognized as one of the most relevant innovation habitats in Latin America – and Sebrae launched the call for Mind the Bizz, a program to support innovative entrepreneurship with workshops, mentoring and coaching for startups for 10 weeks. To participate, interested entrepreneurs must consult the call and fill out the registration form by March 10th.
The Mind the Bizz program encompasses startups and creative ventures that aim to develop innovation in products or services in the areas of Services, Cities, Creative Economy, Commerce, Industry, Agribusiness, Public Services, Health, Finance and Social Impact. Having at least two partners or founders – one of them with training or experience in the business sector – and ensuring the dedication of at least 20 hours per week in the working day are among the prerequisites required of entrepreneurs.
Composed of two stages, the selection process is divided into the qualification of proposals and the pitch day. At first, five criteria will be evaluated – ranging from the profile and availability of entrepreneurs to business opportunities and capital. In the second phase, the selected projects must be presented for up to five minutes to a judging committee, which will recommend or not the participation in Mind the Bizz. The final result will be announced on March 18, with the program starting on March 23.
As a way of providing opportunities for new access to the program and guaranteeing its diversity and plurality, up to three startups will be exempt from the 80% payment fee. To qualify, the entire team must be formed exclusively by women or at least 60% of the team must be entrepreneurs with a family income of no more than two minimum wages.
In the new business qualification program, entrepreneurs will build the Business Development Plan, which will guide the focus to be given in training and follow-up (consulting, coaching and mentoring) to insert the business in the market and seek the conditions for the its development after Mind the Bizz. The program is based on appropriate methodologies for the development of innovative businesses, such as the Business Model Canvas, Customer Development and Design Thinking.
