To contribute to the advancement of a public policy agenda for digital transformation and innovation in Brazil, ABES launched the THINK TANK ABES – Center for Intelligence, Public Policy and Innovation, which was born with the mission of bringing together a team of qualified researchers, who will be invited to reflect on trends, study, debate and propose solutions for the country's main challenges, bearing in mind that new technologies are vectors of profound transformations.

This team is already being formed with the disclosure of the eight professionals selected in the selection process of the first notice of the 2023 Fellowship Program.”We received candidates with excellent profiles and it was not easy to choose. We were very happy with the adhesion to our proposal and, soon, we will launch the second notice. With such a qualified team, we are certain that we will achieve all the goals we have set for the ABES Think Tank”, highlighted Jamile Sabatini Marques, Director of Innovation and Development at ABES and coordinator of the Think Tank.

Artificial intelligence

Anderson Röhe Fontão Batista

Lawyer at the Special Commission on Privacy, Data Protection and Artificial Intelligence of the OAB-SP. PhD student at PPG Stricto Sensu in Intelligence Technologies and Digital Design, at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (TIDD PUC-SP) and researcher-coordinator at TransObjeto (about technological regulation and ethical and sociotechnical implications of emerging technologies in the Global South ). He also develops research at the IEA – USP, at the EthikAI Institute and at the Law and Innovation Research Group (GEDI) at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University Law School (legal aspects of Artificial Intelligence). The topic of your Think Tank survey will be: The international debate about regulatory frameworks and the ethical, sociotechnical and geopolitical implications of emerging technologies for the Global South.

Leonardo Melo Lins

Analyst at the Regional Center for Studies for the Development of the Information Society (Cetic.br), department of the Information and Coordination Center of Ponto BR (NIC.br), where he is responsible for conducting research on ICT Companies and ICT Providers. Doctor and Master in Sociology from the University of São Paulo (USP). Degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He is currently in the postdoctoral program at the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP. Natalia Marroni Borges

Postdoctoral fellow in Artificial Intelligence and Foresight at the Graduate Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul; Co-founder of NAVI, an Artificial Intelligence hub linked to Tecnopuc and Wisidea. Temporary professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in the area of Production and Systems. Professor of the Specialization Course in Intelligence, Strategy and Innovation at UFRGS. Researcher member of the IEA Future Lab group, linked to UFRGS, working with lines of research in Foresight, Artificial Intelligence, Strategic Anticipation, Perceived Value and Cognitive Biases applied to the organizational context. Your research topic on Think Tank is: Artificial Intelligence in the Brazilian Government – diagnosis and future perspectives.   

Victor José da Silva Neto

Postdoctoral fellow at Radboud University (Holland). PhD in Science and Technology Policy from the State University of Campinas (2022), Master in Science and Technology Policy from the State University of Campinas (2018). has worked on three research fronts: changes in the labor market caused by digital platforms; data sharing between platforms and academia; and the geography of innovation taking into account the transformations caused by digital platforms. Your research topic on Think Tank is: Brazilian software companies and the platformization of work.

Marcelo Batista Nery

He is currently the Technology Transfer Coordinator and Head of the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center (BRA-61) at the Center for the Study of Violence (NEV) at USP (CEPID-FAPESP). associate researcher at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Studies on Violence and Health (LIEVES). He has a wide and varied experience in the areas of Geoinformation and Sociology, with emphasis on information systems, scientific dissemination, spatial analysis, public policies, criminal dynamics and urban studies. Regiane Relva Romano

Director of Innovation at VIP-Systems Informática & Consultoria and Director of Smart Campus Facens, where she works as Coordinator of the MBA in Management and Innovation in Smart Cities. She served as Special Advisor to the MCTI – Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. She received the recognition “The Globant Women that Build Awards – Tech Entrepreneur” in 2021 and the Digital Ambassador Award of Brazil 2021/2022. Doctor, with distinction, in Business Administration, concentration area Information Technology Administration FGV-SP. Ana Claudia Donner Abreu

Master in Business Administration from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1997) and PhD in Engineering and Knowledge Management from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2016). Post-doctorate in the Graduate Program in Engineering and Knowledge Management at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She has been a Professor at UFSC, UNIVALI, ESTÁCIO and FESAG. She has already been a Parliamentary advisor in the Chamber of Deputies, where she worked in the management area, especially in the areas of Innovation Ecosystems; Smart Cities: Digital Education; Entrepreneurship ; Science and Technology and Gender Political Violence. Your theme on Think Tank is: Digital Transformation and the Future of Work. 

Patricia Araujo de Oliveira

He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Amazônia, a Master's in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo, and a PhD (cum laude) in Computer Science from the University of Málaga, Spain. Currently, she is a professor at the Federal University of Amapá, coordinates the extension project Girls in Computing and leads the research group entitled Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Research and Technological Innovation - LATEC.
