Federal Highway Police relies on analytical intelligence to ensure the effectiveness of actions

 

The Federal Highway Police (PRF), an institution subordinated to the Ministry of Justice, made investments in technology and analytical intelligence with the objective of having modern resources to generate qualified information that support the decision-making process. To this end, a new application was developed based on MicroStrategy's business intelligence (BI) platform, which allowed optimizing compliance with the competencies provided for by law in the constitution, promoting more assertive actions and enabling continuous improvements of the institution's police force.
 
According to Sergio Saulo Rocha Teixeira, administrative agent of the PRF, current management processes demand the construction of analytical databases composed of indicators, statistics and relevant information for the formulation, execution, monitoring and evaluation of policies, programs and actions carried out. by the PRF.
 
With the analytical solution, for example, it is now possible to identify the stretches with the highest occurrence of accidents on federal highways. Panels were also developed that include the main strategic performance indicators, capable of measuring the results achieved and also serving as a basis for feeding new actions, in accordance with the objectives of the PRF's strategic map. Another benefit of the platform is the possibility of translating strategic goals, taking them into account for the development of tactical and operational actions to be carried out in favor of the fight against crime. In addition, with the project already implemented, the institution achieved the desired capillarity in delivering critical information to all federal highway police officers operating in the national territory.
 
“The MicroStrategy tool was chosen because it meets the minimum requirements for initiating the bidding process, has the lowest cost and also offers the best technology to meet the needs of the PRF”, says Teixeira.
 
New projects are already underway employing analytical technology. Among them, the so-called IDE stands out, which will present the main performance indicators of the road police institution through panels that can be accessed on computers and mobile devices.
