The Ministry of Planning, Development and Management (MP) launched, in early May, the Data Analysis Platform of the Federal Government (GovData). The tool, the result of a partnership with the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro) and the Social Security Information and Technology Company (Dataprev), will help the government in the fight against fraud.

Through GovData, it is possible, for example, to find out if a person who has died continues to receive a social benefit. The crossing of data from social programs with the income of citizens will also become faster, more practical and more accurate, according to information from the ministry.

In addition, the new platform simplifies access and assessment of public managers to government information and allows agencies to exchange information. Thus, GovData will be useful in the development and monitoring of public policies and will generate savings in data storage, processing and analysis costs.

The feature is available to all federal agencies. In order to have access to the databases, however, the bodies responsible for the data will need to authorize the use, in order to maintain the security and confidentiality of the information.

“GovData is a precious technology tool for public managers. The use of the data provided on the platform will allow for a more agile analysis of public policies, such as the granting or payment of social benefits”, exemplifies the Minister of Planning, Dyogo Oliveira.

In addition to the databases, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure will also be available in the new digital environment, as well as the necessary tools to cross-reference information.

The solution currently provides the 20 most accessed federal government databases. Among them, the Individual Taxpayers' Registry (CPF), the Integrated Human Resources Management System (Siape), the Federal Government's Integrated Financial Management System (Siafi) and the National Registry of Motor Vehicles (Renavam).

In August 2017, ten more databases will be available and, by the end of the year, this number should increase with the inclusion of new databases of bodies that adhere to the solution.
