Virtual reality ecosystem now has the support of 38 companies

Razer, the world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, and SensicsT, the leader in high-performance virtual reality, announce more partners for the Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) virtual reality ecosystem. Since its announcement at CES 2015, OSVR has gathered 13 new members, including Jaunt, a pioneer in cinematic virtual reality. Other interested parties are still talking to Razer and Sensics.

"The reception to OSVR has exceeded even our expectations and we've been working through numerous partnership requests since CES. Bringing together companies that do amazing work in all areas of virtual reality helps accelerate the process of bringing devices to the end consumer and improves the overall user experience,” said Min-Liang Tan, co-founder, CEO and creative director of Razer.

OSVR aims to standardize content creation for virtual reality technologies, both across devices and programs. Razer and Sensics support the project with the release of the OSVR Hacker development kit, a virtual reality headset and open source software that allow programming of various types of VR technology.
