According to the director of MCTIC, José Gontijo, it is necessary to prepare workers for the changes brought about by digital platforms. "We are working to ensure a favorable ecosystem for the development and deployment of IoT solutions in Brazil". Gontijo participated this Tuesday (22) in the 60th Telebrasil Panel.

The training of skilled labor is one of the priorities of the National Plan for the Internet of Things (IoT), which the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications is preparing. The statement was made by the director of the Department of Science, Technology and Digital Innovation, José Gontijo, during the 60th Telebrasil Panel, in Brasília (DF). "It is necessary to change the profile of Brazilian workers, so that they are prepared for the changes that are coming," said Gontijo.

According to him, the construction of the plan involves a broad debate with all the actors, in addition to a convergence with other countries. "We are working to ensure a favorable ecosystem for the development and deployment of IoT solutions in Brazil."

Another relevant discussion for the elaboration of the National IoT Plan, according to Gontijo, is the clear definition of the State's role in each stage of the process. "We need to know where the State needs to act and where it shouldn't, because the market is self-sufficient in many aspects," he explained.

Gontijo also defended the effective participation of centers of excellence, which "knock on the door" of producers from different areas to sell technological solutions. "It is important to induce the adoption of these innovations, it is not enough for them to be available", he emphasized.

According to the director of Science, Technology and Digital Innovation, the new digital platforms will have great demand from the most varied sectors, "including those who still don't know it". The idea, he added, is for the plan to be an open document, under constant review. "Any rigid public policy is doomed to failure - even because the market is not plastered", he concluded.
