Students from 21 countries give their opinion on what graduation will look like in the future

Students around the world predict that technology will drive structural changes in the classroom. This would happen with an increase in the supply of digital content, more flexible hours – favoring those who work outside the home during the process of training and using social networks. Of 20,800 students surveyed by the Laureate International Universities survey conducted by Zogby Analytics (a leading international opinion research firm), 59% said they believe social media will be used as a teaching tool in the future.

According to those responsible for the research, Brazilians agree that technological changes will be more prevalent in the future. Of the 4,300 students surveyed in Brazil, more than half also expect that social media will be applied in education, 26% expects that the coming years will have a greater offer of online courses, as well as 70% estimates that most books and study material will be available from free on the internet.

The survey also reveals that students are betting on the innovation of courses in the future. This is clear when 68% of them responded that higher education institutions will have online libraries where they can access books and other materials remotely and free of charge.

The technology would also bring more flexibility in the workload and this reflects the opinion of half of the students consulted. They said they believe most courses will be offered at any time of the day or night. Additionally, 43% of students responded that the expectation is to have access to personalized education online, "which could make the traditional classroom experience less important," Zogby's report describes.
