Acqio, a technology and payments company, specializes in large online systems designed to process hundreds of financial transactions per second for electronic payments. To deal with this intense demand in order to achieve better results, Brasoftware, one of the main technology providers in the country, presented the Microsoft Azure platform, a set of integrated cloud services, such as backup, cloud infrastructure, database, mobile services, storage and more.

Despite the current difficult economic scenario, the use of electronic payment methods has grown significantly in Brazil. According to Central Bank research, R$ 678 billion were spent on credit card transactions and R$ 390 billion on debit card transactions in 2015, representing an increase of 9% and 12%, respectively, from 2014 to 2015.

The study also showed that, last year, 5.78 billion transactions were carried out with credit cards (increase of 3% from 2014 to 2015) and 6.5 billion with debit card (increase of 15%). On the other hand, the use of checks fell, with a reduction of 12% from 2014 to 2015.

Already in 2014, with the start of operations, Acqio used the Microsoft platform, but in 2016 through the partnership with Brasoftware, the company now has a service structure focused on its business needs and a support that would count on the suggestion of the best technologies.

Acqio saw the number of sales grow significantly, with the adjustment of expenses and the constant assessment of infrastructure needs.

The changes caused by the use of Microsoft Azure services and the partnership with Brasoftware brought significant results. There was a fivefold increase in the volume of transactions and customers in the period from January to September 2016. “Acqio was able to adjust expenses and work more easily with increased demand with the new pay-per-use agreement. The migration provided improved processes as well as more security, since we work with sensitive data and Azure has proven protection”, says Gustavo Andrade, founding partner of Acqio.

Expanding operation

Headquartered in Recife, the company has offices in the state of São Paulo and the main customer bases are in cities in the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast regions. The case draws attention due to the variety of markets and, for Gustavo, hiring Azure was essential for this expansion. “Companies in this field that do not use a similar system have to invest a very large amount of money in infrastructure, which takes years to pay off”, says Gustavo about the differentials of Brasoftware's services.

“In a business like Acqio, speed is very important – a factor made possible by the migration to the cloud –, but data security is essential when dealing with banking data, and Azure, with PCI certification – Payment Card Industry guarantees this protection”, exposes Ivon de Sousa, manager of Cloud Solutions at Brasoftware.

The advantages of hiring the Azure provided by Brasoftware also generated gains in scalability, that is, the possibility of closely monitoring the company's growth, as well as controlling the commercial environment. The Microsoft platform facilitates work in the three existing operational areas: one is reserved for carrying out transactions, another for store owners (where reports are generated) and the last one is the POS (Point of Sale), which works with points of sale. sale to make permits.

“This dynamic is in line with Acqio's growth, since the complexity of the data increases with the greater flow of transactions, and acting in different instances facilitates access to information by users”, concludes Gustavo.
