The action also includes training and software donation offers

A partnership between the City of São Paulo and Microsoft will expand the use of technology in the municipal education network. The initiative will offer students and teachers access to the company's educational platforms, as well as training and software donations.

The initiative will contribute to the implementation of Digital Education Laboratories (LED) in elementary schools, which will transform computer laboratories into collaborative and problem-solving spaces, allowing the creation of an educational curriculum that works with digital language. Another project benefited is CEU21, which will transform the Unified Educational Centers (CEUs) into digital education and experimentation centers, open to students and the community.

The agreement provides for the training in technology of students from the municipal network, with programs to encourage the creation of innovative ideas and the generation and development of startups. The focus of the action is children and young people from Elementary School, aged from 6 years old. The company will offer tools for posting content, creating classes, websites, blogs, discussion forums and assessments, as well as free use of Microsoft Imagine, software for developing and designing programs.

Free online content for basic information technology training will also be available through the Microsoft Virtual Academy platform. This program gives access to learning tools and a full curriculum of courses, which includes foundational skills development and advanced technical training for students and faculty.

In addition to digital inclusion, the partnership will facilitate pedagogical work, such as conducting research and collaborative activities among students, creating projects, solving problems, autonomy, authoring and building prototypes. The partnership will benefit 422,110 elementary school students and 58,991 teachers from the municipal network.

All municipal schools will also have free access to the Microsoft product platform, including licenses for the company's technologies, such as Office 365 Educational, with Word (text editor), Excel (spreadsheet), PowerPoint (slide show), OneNote (dynamic notebook) or OneDrive (file storage).

Another novelty is the offer of teacher training by the Teachers Ambassadors program, on topics related to the insertion of technology in the learning process and in the use of the tools made available in the partnership. To promote innovation in the classroom, teachers and school principals will also be registered in the Microsoft Educators Community, a worldwide collaboration portal for educators, where it is possible to access teaching resources, discussion forums, tools and free applications for download and classroom use.

The company's software will be donated to partner NGOs in the municipality that work in computer literacy projects. To facilitate the communication of citizens with the municipal administration, the “Microsoft Cidadão Conectado” application will also be made available, which allows the inspection of difficulties, the submission of proposal for solutions, evaluation of the City Hall services and monitoring the performance of public policies for the building better cities. The cooperation agreement is valid for 60 months and investments in programs are equivalent to R$ 15 million.
