Specialist in the field of innovation in the country, the consultant Rafael Levy, is the guest of ACATE at the event that takes place next Tuesday (02)

The Lei do Bem, created in 2005 and which grants tax incentives to legal entities that carry out research and development in technological innovation, will be the theme of the next VerticLunch that the Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies (ACATE) promotes this Tuesday (09/02) , at noon, at the Maria do Mar Hotel, in Florianópolis (SC). The guest is one of the greatest experts on the National Innovation System in the country, businessman and consultant Rafael Levy, an electrical engineer (Unicamp) with a degree in Open Innovation and Corporate Venture from the University of California – Berkeley.

In 2013, according to data from the Federal Revenue, the tax waiver to encourage innovation totaled R$ 7.2 billion – of this total, R$ 2.2 billion were granted via Lei do Bem. In the lecture, Levy will present practical issues for the application of incentives by companies and will share the almost ten years of experience in implementing these benefits to innovative companies. Among the main objectives of this legislation is, in addition to the development of RD&I in companies, the creation of innovative processes and products – according to the Lei do Bem, research does not necessarily have to be related to the company's core activity.
