After raising R$ 580 million in a pre-IPO round led by SoftBank, the acquisition is yet another strategy by the company to increase the scope of its offering

Omie, the cloud management platform (ERP), has just completed the second acquisition in its history and the first after the R$ 580 million round led by SoftBank in early August. Devi Tecnologia develops software solutions for sales (Points of Sale – POS – and Pre-Sales) and was one of the first partners of Omie.Store, created to make life easier for small and medium-sized Brazilian companies that already use scale's ERP up.

With the current need for retail in Brazil, the acquisition aims to offer more and more vertical solutions to Omie customers, raising the competitive level through software solutions for sales.

Like Omie, Devi Tecnologia showed strong growth throughout 2020 and 2021. In this period of pandemic, the company also played a key role in helping thousands of companies to transform themselves digitally and, even after the market reopened, this growth continues. consistent. In recent months, Devi Tecnologia has been recording growth records with a 73% increase in net revenue, from January to July, compared to the same period last year.

“The main reason we took this step with Devi was to recognize the team's talent in developing a specific product for retail, and the understanding that, with the right investment and guidance, the solution can become even more competitive. The experience as an Omie partner for several years made this clear to us”, explains Marcelo Lombardo, CEO & Founder of Omie.

Currently, more than a thousand Omie customers already use the solution offered by Devi at Omie.Store, which is a marketplace with more than 60 complementary solutions natively integrated with Omie. These solutions serve different niches, organizing and complementing the internal management of companies. “It is in this scenario that we see the current partners of Omie.Store: as strategic companies for possible acquisitions, as they are solutions already validated by customers and with a history of trust in the relationship with Omie”, comments Lombardo.

“We started our partnership with Omie 5 years ago and our culture has always been driven by values. This ensured a very strong synergy between the companies, in addition to the certainty of evolution. We are very happy with this new phase and in being able to contribute to the tool offering even more complete solutions”, comments Lucas Souza, from Devi Tecnologia.

Last year, Omie acquired Mintegra to begin expanding its operations and, since then, it has been evaluating the possibility of further acquisitions to increase the product's capabilities. In August of this year, Omie held a pre-IPO round and part of the funds raised will be earmarked precisely for product developments. “Nothing prevents, in the future, there will be other transactions with different partners, including other partners from Frente de Caixa”, concludes Lombardo.
