With the aim of stimulating the Brazilian startup ecosystem and exchanging experiences and knowledge, OLX launches OLX Start, a consultancy and support initiative aimed at young companies across the country. The company will select startups that have synergy with the OLX business to share ideas and guide them to overcome challenges and evolve, offering mentoring in areas such as technology, product, digital marketing and operations, according to the scope and needs of each participant.

“This initiative is a way for OLX to give back to the market some of the success that the brand has achieved over the years as a leader in the online buying and selling segment in Brazil,” says Bernardo de Barros Franco, leader of this initiative at OLX. “OLX started in Brazil in 2010 with a team of 10 people and around 5,000 ads per day. It was a big challenge, because nobody believed that this market for selling used products online would work. Today, with 500 employees and almost half a million ads a day, we see how important it was to have persistence and resilience”, he adds.

The initiative is open to startups from any region of the country, and can be carried out in person or remotely. Some companies will even be able to visit the OLX headquarters, which is located in Rio de Janeiro – an office covering 2,600 square meters, which was developed precisely to encourage innovation and creativity.

Interested startups can contact start@olxbr.com. In this first moment, the selection will be made by the OLX team, taking into account the synergy with the company's business. “Our intention is to help them gain knowledge and experience”, concludes Barros Franco.
