Odair Silva detailed the Beneficiary Identification

Odair Silva, Head of Tax at the consultancy Grant Thornton Brasil, was the special guest at the ABES Tax Working Group (WG) meeting, held on June 25. He spoke about the Beneficiary Identification, established by RFB 1634/2016, which provides for the national registration of legal entities and requires the identification of the final beneficiary of all legal entities, Brazilian and / or foreign, operating in Brazil. This identification is listed by the IRS as a measure to prevent and combat tax evasion, corruption and money laundering.
 

The COSIT Divergence Solution No. 2 - 2019, which deals with the non-incidence of PIS / COFINS on remittances abroad for remuneration for Software; Provisional Measure 881 - 2019 on Economic Freedom; and Complementary Law No. 167/2019 that instituted Inova Simples and special conditions for startups and innovation companies were some of the topics discussed at the meeting.
