The webinar “New Times: A technological approach to cybersecurity, risk management and data protection”, which ABES held on 05/19, had a team of renowned speakers, who spoke about advanced solutions for cybersecurity, data protection, how to manage risks, encryption, the sophistication of cyber attacks, among other topics.

This event is part of ABES 'commitment to its purpose of building a Healthier, More Digital and Less Unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role in the democratization of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for all citizens. affected by the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

The moderation of the webinar was conducted by Nycholas Szucko, director of Cybersecurity at Microsoft for Latin America, who thanked the invitation and remembered the challenge of professionals in the area to keep information and companies protected.

Dalmo Veras Neto, computer scientist, president of the OWASP Florianópolis chapter and founder of 313X Cybersecurity, commented that he acts in the modeling of major attacks, so that, together with clients, they can assess the weaknesses of existing systems in organizations. “I believe that the orientation of people is very important in information security. It is necessary to focus on people and translate cybersecurity in a more tangible way ”, he stressed.

Another guest at the webinar was Domingo Montanaro, an IT expert and expert in cyber risk mitigation and co-founder of the companies Ventura ERM and Ventura Academy. “I have been being mobilized for almost two decades after the attacks occurred, as the expertise comes in when the impact materializes. It is possible to mitigate risks through prevention and also through reaction, which involves actions such as prompt response, expertise, auditing and monitoring, ”he explained. In his assessment, nowadays, the concern with cyber risk has grown and it is necessary to continue investing in the education of the teams.

Klauss Kiesling, Leadcomm's Director of Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Risk Management, believes that the market has started to pay more attention to this area due to the General Data Protection Law. "There are big data leaks in companies, because, until then, they were not concerned with protecting their databases, either from a technological point of view or from having a crisis management group", he pondered.

Dr. Roberto Gallo, Advisor to ABES, President of ABIMDE and General Director of Kryptus Information Security, said that organizations in Brazil, other than those in the banking sector, still do not know the value of the data they lose, be it privacy or data. competitive secrets. “We are still at an internship in Brazil in which the entrepreneur does not clearly know what the objectives are in the area of information security in order to define the most appropriate technologies for the business. Encryption, for example, is still used inappropriately. It is necessary to learn to use law ", he pondered.
