The more than 6 million Micro and Small Companies currently account for 27% of the Brazilian GDP, according to SEBRAE. This important sector of the Brazilian economy has been increasingly looking for solutions and technologies that fit its business model and meet its demands, and for this reason, we are faced with more IT manufacturers every day developing exclusive solutions with differentiated benefits for this sector.

Unfortunately, in the early 2000s, IT manufacturers believed that the ideal solutions for this segment, SMB (companies with up to 499 employees), would have their needs met by products already available on the market and with costs incompatible with purchasing power of these organizations.

It is worth remembering that, at the time, this segment was not able to guarantee a consumption volume that would make the large suppliers invest in the customization of these solutions. What we saw were adapted corporate offers, which in practice distanced themselves from the reality and organizational needs of small and medium-sized companies.

It is evident that the SMB segment needs much more than tailored offers, it needs IT solutions that put its production capacity on par with large corporations and, at the same time, with investments compatible with the reality of these companies that face heavy obligations legal ones, such as: payrolls, high tax burden and an overall unsteady economy.

Given this scenario, a major trend in the IT market, cloud computing solutions, or in the cloud, has been proving to be a great opportunity for the democratization of technology solutions that contribute to better governance in companies of all segments. Without a doubt, cloud solutions are efficient and low-complexity tools that help to manage any organization, as they are suitable for any type of business, whether it is a small business or a multinational.

The end of the need for investments in heavy infrastructure, such as servers and the possibility of providing information and access to remote employees anywhere (mobility), makes SMBs able to consume high-quality services that really bring competitive advantages to your business.

The challenge now is to ensure that cloud offers are presented in a coherent and personalized way to small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, who certainly have a series of doubts and fears related to the continuity of their business and the ability to evolve according to what the market demand.
