Brazil's cloud infrastructure has received updates to help businesses be more efficient and innovative while keeping their data protected and in regulatory compliance.
Microsoft has made significant updates to its Azure infrastructure in Brazil to support companies in their innovation and digital transformation journeys. New features include the general availability of Route-Maps for Azure Virtual WAN, Long-Term backups in Azure Database for PostgreSQL and virtual machines (VM) v6 with Intel and AMD. These new features reflect the ongoing evolution of Azure, ensuring that companies of all sizes can not only meet their operational demands but also achieve excellence in efficiency, security, and compliance.
Whether you're optimizing networks, protecting sensitive data, or boosting high-performance applications, these updates are designed to deliver tangible results and direct business impact. Check out what's new:
Route-Maps for Azure Virtual WAN: Microsoft Azure customers now have access to the Route-Maps feature for Azure Virtual WAN, which allows users to control route advertisements and routing for Azure WAN virtual hubs. With Route-Maps, you can more effectively manage routes into and out of site-to-site (S2S) VPN connections, point-to-site (P2S) VPN connections, ExpressRoute connections, and virtual network (VNet) connections. This functionality provides more control over routing decisions by allowing you to modify BGP attributes, such as AS-PATH, to select the best available route. With this enhanced control, businesses can optimize their networks and reduce operational costs. Learn more about this update. on this link.
Long-Term Backups to Azure Database for PostgreSQL: Globally available, this new functionality aims to address the critical needs of businesses in terms of compliance, audit readiness, and long-term data durability. With LTR, organizations can retain PostgreSQL backups for up to 10 years using the Azure Backup service, which offers protection against threats like ransomware and accidental deletion, as well as long-term recovery scenarios even when the original server is no longer available. Long-Term Backups are policy-managed, scalable, and secure, enabling companies to meet regulatory and compliance requirements for long-term data retention. Learn more. in this publication.
Intel and AMD v6 Virtual Machine (VM) Availability: Microsoft announced the general availability of the new Azure V6 Virtual Machines (VMs), which represent a significant leap forward in performance and efficiency for enterprise workloads. V6 VMs are ideal for compute-intensive applications such as financial modeling, scientific simulations, and artificial intelligence, enabling companies to accelerate innovation with greater security and flexibility. Supporting the latest generations of Intel Xeon processors with Intel EMR and 4th Gen AMD EPYC technology, these VMs offer significant gains in performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. The diverse range of options allows companies to choose the configuration best suited to their specific needs, maximizing their return on cloud investment. Learn more. on here.
