Registration is open until August 19th
The Nexus (innovation hub of the São José dos Campos Technological Park) will select up to 15 startups to participate for free in a Demo Day, which takes place during the Nexus Summit, and present itself to a bank of large investors, linked to the largest investment funds in the Brazil.
The investors and investment funds that will be present declared that they have R$ 780 million under management for investment in startups. The deadline for registration is August 19 on this link.
The Demo Day takes place on August 30th and will have a bank comprising, among others, Paulo Mariotto, from ValeTec Capital; Fernando Silva, from Crescera Investimentos; Martin Mitteldorf, partner at MOV Investimentos; Romero Rodrigues, CEO of Redpoint eventures; and Vinícius Ferriani, founder of Gympass and partner at Hangar8 Capital.
In addition to the possibility of receiving investments, Demo Day is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get to know investors up close. "It is a two-way street, so it is important to stress that it is a great time for the startup to present its idea to large investment funds, as well as for investors to get to know good proposals", says Alexandre Barros, head of Nexus Hub.
One of the investors present is Marcelo Almeida, CEO of Brain Ventures, who is the operational manager of the Primatec Fund. “It is always a great pleasure to participate in the Demo Day and to be engaged in the initiatives of the São José dos Campos Technological Park to develop the ecosystem. The Park has, since the beginning, been a very important partner of our Primatec Fund and has assimilated Primatec's unique dynamic of sharing profits with the innovation environments of our Network. Today, we have investment from the Fund in three companies there and we remain attentive and active in making other acquisition movements ”, he says.
How to apply
To compete for a spot on the Nexus Summit Demo Day, interested startups must submit a two-minute pitch video with audio in Portuguese by August 19th.
A committee will choose 15 proposals with a high chance of receiving investments - early stage startups will be considered, which will have 3 minutes for the pitch, and growth stage startups, which will have 5 minutes. Those selected will win tickets for the two days of the Nexus Summit.
