Netbr, a Brazilian company specialized in Identity Management and Privileged Access (known as "password vault"), is concluding a joint venture operation with its North American counterpart Identropy.

The objective is to create a binational company with high specialization in technology and services in this sophisticated segment of software, projects and professional services. The initiative takes effect at the beginning of 2017 and will allow the two companies to integrate service structures, laboratories, people, partners and customer bases.

Immediately, Netbr began to expand its local offer with Identtropy's portfolio items, and vice versa. The two companies also unify their development, consulting and operation teams, so that the intellectual capital of Netbr and Identtropy becomes a single entity.

The IAM (Identity Access Management) and PAM (Privilege Access Management) niche is rapidly expanding, due to the advancement of the cloud, the increased risk of cyber attacks and breaches/leakage of critical information. Until some time ago, this was a market dominated by horizontal solution companies (such as Oracle, IBM, CA, Novell), but today it begins to migrate to niche providers that seek greater integration with each other.

As part of the alignment, the joint operation puts in the same portfolio the offerings of two global developers and partners that are considered references in this IT segment. They are Sailpoint – leader in identity governance (IGA) – and Balabit, leader in access control (Privileged Session Management).

"These solutions will be the pillars of our offer, integrated to the current customer environment", highlights André Facciolli, Director of Netbr. According to him, around 44% of companies fail to meet the requirements of data breach investigations, which places the Netbr-Identtropy solution in a strategic situation.

According to research by the company Global Market Insights, the identity and access niche is jumping to a level of US$ 26.74 billion a year by 2022. The US, according to the research, absorbs more than 40% of this total and, in the estimation of Netbr-Identropy, Brazil will receive 3 to 5% of annual revenues from projects in this area.

From the combined operation, André Facciolli takes over as local CEO of Netbr-Identropy, already strengthening the Netbr customer base, and operationalizing Sailpoint in Brazil. The North American portion of the company continues under the direction of Identtropy CEO Victor Barris.

In the assessment of Victor Barris, the convergence between the companies puts Netbr-Identropy in a much more competitive position than that of isolated companies. "Our union leads to the immediate creation of a large library of frameworks and 'best practices', covering different economic realities and different experiences in terms of industry verticals, especially for Brazil where there is a certain lack of this knowledge", says Barris.

U$ 5 Million Revenue
Netbr is a pioneer in identity and privilege management solutions in Brazil and has more than 10 years of experience in the market, having participated in more than 50 projects of integrated management platforms in this segment in medium and large companies. Among its clients are highly mission-critical companies, such as TIM, Banco do Brasil, Sabesp, Cetip, Serasa, UOL, among others.

Identropy, for its part, also accumulates a decade of experience and has more than 200 projects in the area, involving companies such as Capital One, Verizon, Marriot and the US Golf Association. Worldwide, Identtropy is one of the most outstanding international partners of Sailpoint, a company that currently dominates the IGA (Identity Governance Administration) segment.

The company expects the joint operation to generate revenues of around US$ 5 million throughout 2017. About US$ 300 thousand are being invested to align operations and local hiring.
