NEC, a global provider of communication and information technology solutions, announced during Futurecom 2014 the signing of a contract with Phonoway, a distributor of communication and telephony products with 23 years in the market. Based on the agreement, the Brazilian company starts distributing NEC branded equipment for the segment of small and medium-sized companies to a chain of resellers, which will be supplied to the various customers in this segment.
 
According to Manoel Sieiro, enterprise director at NEC in Brazil, the partnership strengthens the presence of the NEC brand and product lines in this market segment, which currently has a lot of potential in the country. “The perspective is to double the volume of business with small and medium-sized clients in a period of one year. We have this expectation due to the great worldwide acceptance that this line of equipment from the company demonstrates, since it is the sales leader in its segment, and also due to Phonoway's expertise in distribution”, he says.
 
From the closing of the contract, Phonoway will make it possible, through the capillarity of its operations - with operations in Curitiba (PR), São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Salvador (BA) and Recife (PE), where it maintains sales offices and technical assistance with reach in all regions of Brazil. The next steps include a channel training process, which Phonoway will be in charge of.
