An ABES initiative with the support of several civil associations and entities, the Movimento Brasil, País Digital is engaged in the debate around the future of democracy in the digital age and has launched a series of videos with experts who talk about the topic from different perspectives. Entitled “#DElection Challenge: My Digital Country, the series aims to collaborate in building an agenda for digital transformation and for it to be on the candidates' programs in this 2018 election campaign. Another goal is to help voters identify relevant issues for the country's future.
 
“We set out to talk to experts and influencers to discuss the future of democracy, industry, government management, education, citizenship, human rights in the digital age, among other topics of interest to the general public, such as fake news, industry 4.0 and behavior on social networks in a time of political polarization”, explained Andriei Gutierrez, Coordinator of the ABES Regulatory Committee and the Movimento Brasil, País Digital, of which he is co-founder.
 
They have already been published on the profiles of social networks in Brazil, País Digital in Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, the videos with João Emílio Gonçalves, from the National Confederation of Industry, who talks about Industry 4.0 and the expected advances in the sector in the coming years; Gustavo Maia, from Colab, who discussed the possibilities of promoting public management with popular participation via apps; Lígia Zotini, from the Voicers project, talking about the new generation of voters who are born plugged in and the effective presence of candidates in the digital world; Thiago Tavares, president of SaferNet Brasil and advisor to the TSE, who pondered on electoral content on the internet, checking and veracity of information and how to combat false content (fake news) and any type of hate speech during the period electoral; and Alana Rizzo, co-founder of Redes Cordiais, who explained the project dedicated to transforming the network into a more friendly and respectful space, in order to improve coexistence in the virtual environment, especially during the election period. Other recordings are still in production.
 
About the Brazil Movement, Digital Country
 
Launched in 2016, Brasil, País Digital is a multi-sector, non-profit movement, led by ABES, which works towards a digital transformation agenda for the country. Currently, there are 12 partner entities and several volunteer employees engaged in the campaign. In December 2017, it began to recognize professionals, researchers and authorities who stand out for their history of supporting the information technology sector and for the digital transformation of Brazilian society, handing them a commemorative plaque and naming them honorary ambassadors of the movement. .
