Highlight of the 2017 ABES get-together dinner (learn more here), held on December 11, in São Paulo, was the homage that the association paid to professionals, researchers and authorities that stand out for their history of supporting the information technology sector and for the digital transformation of Brazilian society. The honorees received a commemorative plaque and were appointed honorary ambassadors of the Brazil Movement, Digital Country (www.brasilpaisdigital.com.br). 
 
They are: Júlio Semeghini, who has been working in the computer and telecommunications sector for over 25 years and who is currently the secretary of government at the São Paulo City Hall; Maximiliano Martinhão, current president of Telebrás and former secretary of IT at MCTIC; Caio Megale, economist and Secretary of Finance of the Municipality of São Paulo; Bruno Bioni, researcher and lawyer at Ponto Br / NIC.br Information and Coordination Center; Luigi Nese, President of the National Confederation of Services; Fabio Rua, Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs at IBM Latin America and coordinator of the ABES Regulatory Committee, creator of the Movimento Brasil, País Digital; Andriei Guerrero Gutierrez, manager of Governmental and Regulatory Affairs at IBM Brasil and coordinator of Movimento Brasil, País Digital; Manoel Antonio dos Santos, legal director at ABES for 30 years; Anselmo Gentile, executive director of ABES for 25 years; and Daniel Annenberg, São Paulo City Hall's Secretary of Innovation and Technology; Thiago Sombra, Professor at UnB, lawyer and specialist in Digital Transformation and Data Flow; Marcelo Pagotti, Secretary of Information Technology at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management; and Murillo Laranjeira, Facebook's government relations manager.

For ABES, the initiative recognizes the work of these professionals in favor of Legal Security, Digital Transformation in Brazil and the development of the technology sector. “This was a year of great progress for the market and, therefore, the Brazil Movement, Digital Country, with the support of ABES, created the honorary Ambassadors award. We believe that the tribute reinforces the importance of the contribution of several agents to the technological development of the country ”, declares Francisco Camargo, president of ABES.
