Developers will show their ideas for new Snaps from the Moto Z line

Motorola promotes its first Hackathon, called Mod the Future, in which developers from all over Brazil will be invited to create prototypes of the new Moto Snaps for the Moto Z family, modules that can transform smartphone functionality in just one click. The event, which will take place on the 20th and 21st of May, arrives in the country with an edition in Campinas (SP), at the headquarters of the Instituto Eldorado, after visiting the United States and China. Entries can be made through the website: https://mod-the-future-brazil.eventbrite.com.

On the occasion, subscribers will be able to assemble teams of up to five people and will be challenged to develop a new Moto Snap for the market. There is no restriction of ideas. All projects will be evaluated by a judging committee and will compete for incredible prizes and opportunities. To choose the winners, the following criteria will be analyzed: innovation, ease of use, solving a real consumer problem, technical and commercial feasibility and execution.

“The Moto Z was conceived from the beginning as an open ecosystem capable of being powered by, from small developers, to large companies that have the aspiration to maximize the innovation of the modular smartphone and redefine the future of mobile telephony”, says Renato Arradi, product director at Motorola. “We have always invested heavily in the Brazilian market and we know that there is no shortage of great ideas that often just need a stimulus to move forward. The Mod the Future Hackathon is an opportunity for students, engineers, developers from all over the country to show their creativity”, he concludes.

To put their ideas into practice, participants will have available the Moto Snaps development kits. On the 26th and 3rd of May, Motorola will also promote two workshops to help subscribers to become familiar with the platform and enable contact with the Moto Snaps architecture, environment configuration and practical activities in the implementation of use cases, exercising concepts of modular technology and available interfaces.
