The Ministry of Communications launched a public call for tender for Usinas Digitais, which will select two projects, each of which will receive up to R$ 4 million by the ministry. The objective is to establish partnerships with local governments, civil society entities or research institutions to encourage innovation and technological development projects in technology parks or through local production arrangements.

These partnerships result in laboratories and technology centers that are used for the production of audiovisual works, games, applications for smartphones, tablets and other electronic media. In the last two years, the ministry has already supported the installation of units in Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

"Brazil has talent, it has capacity, it has creativity. But it is necessary to integrate government structures, the private sector and universities so that this effort is enhanced."

Usina Digitais will receive proposals from interested parties until September 4th. Entries to the INOVApps contest can be made until August 28th.
