Ministry will award 100 projects for new applications in several categories

 

The Ministry of Communications released the final result of the winners of the 2nd Electronic Games and Applications Contest – INOVApps. The list of the 100 selected applications can be found here.
 
The 100 projects will receive an award of R$ 50 thousand each, which totals R$ 5 million. The purpose of the contest, held by the Ministry of Communications in partnership with the University of Brasília, is to encourage the creation of new companies in the field and encourage scientific and technological production in the area.
 
The second edition of INOVApps had a total of 933 applications and game projects registered. After analyzing the criteria established by the public notice, 433 projects were classified. Among these, the 100 with the highest scores were chosen to receive the award. The winners will be communicated by the ministry to sign the term of commitment.

Applications must be unpublished, original and must be compatible with at least one of the following platforms: Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Ginga Middleware. The apps and games projects cover several categories, divided into 15 themes: Education/Teaching; Health; Urban mobility; Public security; Accessibility/Human Rights; Assessment of the quality of services and public policies; Social assistance; Culture; Consumer rights and protection; Improved management in the public sector; Tourism and Major Events; Treatment of public policy indicators (open data); Social Participation; Work and Income; Environment).
 
The INOVApps contest is part of the Ministry's National Policy on Creative Digital Content. This is the second edition of the initiative, which last year awarded 50 application projects.
