The Ministry of Communications signed technical cooperation agreements and agreements with the Science and Technology departments and Research Support Foundations in 11 states for the Citizenship Digital Networks program. 
 
Launched in August, the program will support digital inclusion projects with the participation of extension departments at federal and state universities. The states chosen in this first phase were: Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Amazonas, Paraná and Acre.
 
"We are going to develop many solutions together with this work so that they serve as a basis for the assembly of our National Broadband Plan 2.0", said the Minister of Communications Paulo Bernardo, reinforcing the importance of the participation of the states for the PNBL 2.0, which intends to universalize the internet in the country.
 
The program has a contribution of R$ 23.7 million by the Secretary of Digital Inclusion of the Ministry of Communications and a counterpart of R$ 5 million from foundations. The execution period is 24 months.

The program Digital Citizenship Networks will support digital inclusion projects within the following themes: training of technicians and municipal managers in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs); training of micro and small companies in the use of ICTs to improve competitiveness; support for qualifying the use of public Internet access facilities; professionalization in the production chains of family agriculture; ICTs aimed at work, employment and income and support for the development of products and services in IT microenterprises and local providers.
