ACATE initiative opens seven spots for startups across the country

 

Applications for the MIDITEC incubation program are open until June 23, an incubator for technology-based companies managed by the Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), in partnership with Sebrae/SC. Startups from all over Brazil can apply, but both the stages of the selection process and the incubation program must be carried out in person in Florianópolis. The selection process involves elimination stages through evaluation criteria provided for in the public notice, and the result will be published on the MIDITEC website on September 20, and the entry of selected startups is scheduled for early October. For this incubation round, seven technology-based startups will be selected that have already validated their business model or are in the process of being validated, and that therefore need support to traction, develop and generate growth. Among the benefits of the incubation program at MIDITEC, the following stand out: development and improvement of entrepreneurs as business managers, mentoring program, consultancy in 12 business areas, participation in events, training and networking, approximation with investors and major partner players of the incubator, automatic association with ACATE, participation in the Association's Business Verticals and access to other ACATE strategic programs, in addition to being able to install your startup in a collaborative and innovative environment, which in 2018 received the award for best Hub of Innovation in Brazil according to ABStartups.
 
The MIDITEC incubation program lasts for up to 24 months and offers two modalities: resident and non-resident, according to the needs of each startup. The startup's journey, the program involves three major phases: Start, lasting six months and focused on better understanding whether the solution proposed by the startup meets its client's pain, and for that it is necessary to test market hypotheses; Growth, which lasts one year and in which MIDITEC helps the startup to verify if its sales process is viable and if the product is profitable; that's why this phase is totally focused on sales so that the startup finds its sales machine; and Expansion, which corresponds to the last six months of the program, in which the startup already has its sales machine operating and is in the phase of preparing to scale and accelerate. At each stage, some key deliverables are required from the incubated companies, which gives them the status to advance in the program.
