Objective is to support projects that will be submitted to the App Campus program in Finland

Microsoft is selecting Brazilian startups for the Mobile App Acceleration Camp (MAAC), a mobile application development marathon that will take place on March 19 and 20 at the company's headquarters in São Paulo.

The purpose of the event is to support developers in creating projects that will be submitted to App Campus, a funding and acceleration program offered by Microsoft and Nokia at Aalto University, Finland. In addition to support for the development of apps for Windows Phone, the startups selected for the App Campus will each receive 20 thousand euros. The training in Finland lasts for one month and is paid for by Microsoft.

The selection of Brazilian startups for the MAAC is made by Microsoft in partnership with the Brazilian Startup Association (ABS). End-consumer applications, such as games and apps, that can be translated into multiple languages and have the potential for global reach tend to have the upper hand in the competition.

Applications for the MAAC close on March 10 and can be done through the link: eventus.wufoo.eu.

This is the second Brazilian edition of MAAC. In all, 18 startups participated in the first app creation marathon and, of this total, five were selected for training in Finland, as well as to receive financial support of 20 thousand euros. They are: Qranio, Stayfilm, FunSounds, PWD and 2Minds Development.
