Microsoft signed an agreement with Softex, the entity responsible for managing the federal government's Brasil Mais TI program, to offer courses on technology. Initially, there are six technical content options prepared by the company's professionals to contribute to training young people for the job market.

The courses offered free of charge by Microsoft at first are: Basic concepts of software development, Cloud computing fundamentals, Fundamentals of the C# Language, Network Fundamentals, MVA TOP 10 Windows 10 Features and office 365🇧🇷 The trainings are aimed at students who are starting their professional lives, and represent a qualification opportunity to further prepare them for their first job in the technology field. Upon completing classes through the Brasil Mais TI portal, young people receive a certificate. The partnership will be extended and new courses will be added throughout the year.

With more than 200,000 registered students, the Brasil Mais TI portal is a project funded by the Ministries of Education and Science, Technology and Innovation, with technical coordination from Softex, and aims to awaken young people's interest in technology. Several national and international companies in the sector collaborate by offering training.

According to Richard Chaves, Director of Innovation at Microsoft Brazil, “we are committed to the development and competitiveness of Brazil and we know that Education is the main foundation to advance in this direction. We have several initiatives in the educational area and this one with Brasil Mais TI reinforces our support for training young people, preparing them for the job market and encouraging them in the area of technology in favor of a better world”.

“One of the main bottlenecks in the software and IT services industry is the growing deficit of qualified professionals, which could reach the worrying mark of 408,000 in 2020. One of the main objectives of this project is precisely to attract the interest of young people to training in one of the many options available in technological careers, which also offer very attractive salaries”, explains Diônes Lima, vice president of operations (COO) at Softex.

Partnership with CUBO to help startups

Another company initiative is that in partnership with CUBO, a program by Itaú Unibanco and Redpoint and Ventures to foster the startup market in Brazil, Microsoft will offer supported entrepreneurs free access to the cloud and business mentoring for the development of their businesses . The technology company will also have a space at CUBO, in São Paulo.

Collaboration between companies also involves providing technology and technical expertise to entrepreneurs. In this way, they will be able to allocate their investments to other key activities for their business.

According to the director of Innovation and New Technologies at Microsoft Brazil, Richard Chaves, this partnership aims to improve the work already carried out with CUBO to give even more possibilities to Brazilian entrepreneurs with regard to the use of innovations. “We have programs to fully support the entrepreneurial journey, as we believe that in this way we also contribute to moving the economy and generating jobs in the country. Our partnerships aim to join efforts to expand the local impact of startups”, comments the executive.

“With this partnership, we intend to further support our resident startups, who will have a stronger structure to place their products on the market”, concludes Flavio Pripas, director of CUBO.
