In all, 5,000 vacancies will be offered to women interested in professional training in technology
Between the 12th and 14th of May, the technology training NGO WoMakersCode and the Microsoft will hold the first edition of the Women in Innovation Marathon. The event's mission is to inspire and boost cis and trans girls and women who want to enter or specialize in careers in the technology market. The program includes lectures, panels and collaborative activities, in addition to the raffle of individual mentoring sessions, to leverage the first steps or career transition of professionals. Altogether, they will be open 5 thousand free spaces for women from all over Brazil who want to participate in the marathon and be trained in technology.
The event will feature Microsoft experts who will address topics such as programming, data science, artificial intelligence, people management, analysis and definition of digital product metrics and project management. Among the speakers are Danielle Monteiro, Cloud Solutions Architect at Microsoft Brazil and Glaucia Lemos, Cloud Advocate at Microsoft Brazil. Participants will also have access to a trail on employability in technology, which will provide workshops on career paths, how to create a resume, tips to stand out on LinkedIn and interview techniques.
All trails will be online, with translation into pounds, and will be available at MoreWomen.Tech, initiative that aims to enable 100,000 women in digital skills across Brazil. In partnership with WoMakersCode, the program offers 6 free and online training trails in the areas of Cloud Computing, Infrastructure, Information Security, DevOps, Development and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The platform, which already has 39 thousand students, is part of Microsoft Mais Brasil, a comprehensive plan launched in October 2020, which aims to expand Microsoft's long-term commitment to the country, which has lasted 33 years, and which has as one of its pillars the qualification of the workforce. From October 2020 to April 2022, more than 5 million people were impacted with different Microsoft qualification or requalification initiatives and nearly 900,000 people have already completed at least one course.
In addition to the training, all participants will have access to the connect+, a professional qualification program and connection with opportunities in the job market, which is also part of the Microsoft Mais Brasil Plan. The initiative, launched in March 2022, has two fronts of action – Training and Connection – and offers three free training trails with more than 20 technology-certified courses. Conecta+ participants over the age of 16 will be able to register on the Modern Talent Hub, a portal where job seekers will be visible to companies that are part of the Microsoft ecosystem and have vacancies available.
