Agreement includes the development of new products focusing on SMEs

Sage, multinational leader in the global market of management software for small and medium companies, has just announced a partnership with Microsoft for the development of new software. The agreement includes new Sage solutions that leverage Microsoft platforms and greater integration between the two companies' product portfolios. Per the announcement, Sage will create the next generation of accounting and bookkeeping tools based on Microsoft's leading cloud solutions.

Small businesses represent 99% of the world's businesses and account for two-thirds of new jobs created in the UK and US since 2009. Through this partnership, Sage will be able to help thousands of SMEs around the world, ensuring access to these ventures to all the resources and technology that the two companies have to offer.

“Over the past few years, Sage and Microsoft have built a fruitful relationship at the local level. With the new agreement, we start to consider a bigger picture and imagine what is possible to do for SMEs around the world if the two work in a more integrated and closer way on a global scale”, says the executive vice president of global strategic partnerships and alliances at Sage, Alan Laing.

“Based on the new solutions that will be developed, Sage will be able to help even more accountants to increase their productivity”, says the general manager of the Microsoft Office Division, Julia White.
