The objective is to control reprehensible conduct such as bullying, abuse of authority, sexual harassment and diversion of company assets.

Metasix, specialized in multi-channel service technologies, is launching the "Whistleblower Channel, Compliance and Fight against Abusive Conduct". The system is modular and can be incorporated into the communication structure of companies, schools, hospitals and public bodies. The objective is to curb ethical abuses and reduce the financial, legal and reputational risk for businesses.

The technology used is the same as the Metasix "omnichannel" center (the CUBE service platform), which today already performs more than 50 million calls a year in city halls, universities, companies and public bodies. Its structure was dimensioned in the "pocket" concept, resulting in a simplified and easily activated call center with reduced investments.

The new solution follows the hardening of the Brazilian judiciary in the face of practices of this type. In recent years, in Brazil, there has been an increase of more than 500% in criminal and labor claims involving moral and sexual harassment in companies.

According to data from the CNJ (National Council of Justice), this type of claim jumped from a half-yearly average of around 600 actions in 2013 to more than 4,050 actions in the first half of last year alone.

The Whistleblower Channel offers several ways to guarantee anonymity and confidentiality. It works on any type of media chosen by the company, including the corporate portal, email or chat. An unprecedented feature is receiving complaints through Telegram, Twitter, WhatsApp or any other social network, without the identity of the complainant needing to be revealed.

Metasix offers options for online or offline interaction between whistleblowers and ethics committees, through protective barriers that guarantee the anonymity of contacts. Interactions in the central can be conducted by human attendants or robots (bots) properly instructed and built for this application.

Along with the resources for capturing complaints, the "pocket" center brings intelligence functionalities for directing messages, in accordance with the rules defined by the companies' compliance policy. One tool included in the solution is an intuitive, fully visual rule-editing system (with an interface similar to a flow-building tool). With this facility, those responsible for the code of conduct can feed the system with the ethical and business standards that make up the compliance policy.

Tougher laws against harassment in the company
According to Cleiton Jorge, Operations Director at Metasix, the demand for channels of this type also stems from tougher legislation regarding the privacy and integrity of individuals in companies. "A large number of employers have already been impacted by accusations of abuse by employees since 2001, when Law 10,244 typified sexual harassment as a criminal act for both women and men", points out Jorge.

According to him, there is also a large number of companies that respond to accusations of bullying and moral harassment practiced in their environment, which are typified as crimes of slander, offense against decorum and even psychological injury. "With the entry into force of the new Data Protection Law (LGDP), a Whistleblower Center can be essential so that any member of the company can alert management about the misuse of third-party information", continues the director.
