Initiative will recognize best practices in sales in technology

MercadoLivre, the largest e-commerce site in Latin America, has just launched an award that will recognize the talent of online entrepreneurs who work in its marketplace, both in the sales area and in the development of technological systems. The MercadoLivre Entrepreneurship Award was presented on May 16 to around 1500 Brazilian e-commerce retailers during the MercadoLivre University event, held in São Paulo.

There will be three categories: Best Practices in Sales, Best Practices in Technology and Entrepreneur of the Year. The objective of the initiative is to value and recognize the practices of companies that operate in MercadoLivre and of technology professionals who have created solutions to improve the buying and selling experience on the marketplace. Currently, over 7 million unique sellers and 21 million buyers do business on the site.

The works entered in the Sales and Technology categories will be evaluated by a specialized jury, made up of professionals chosen by the committee responsible for the award. The Entrepreneur of the Year will be elected by popular vote.

Among the prizes reserved for the winners are a trophy, certificate and a seal, which can be used in the store's online communication materials to highlight its credibility and performance in MercadoLivre's operations. Entrepreneur of the Year is also booked to travel to MercadoLivre's headquarters in Argentina.

Applications are open until the 8th of July and can be done at www.premiomercadolivre.com.br. The award ceremony will be held in August.
