Globally, the IT market grew by 6.7%, while in Brazil the segment grew by 9.8%. The advance represents more than double the forecast for the year (4.1%) and growth from 2017 to 2018 (4.5%), reaching US$ 46.6 billion (considering only the domestic market). Of this amount, US$23.9 billion (51.3%) refers to investments in hardware, US$12.2 billion (26.2%) to services and US$10.5 billion (22.5%) to software.

“The growth of the Brazilian sector in 2018 signals an effective resumption in the technology segment, after the market retraction in 2016. This scenario shows that technology has become an important component for the competitiveness and efficiency of companies in times of crisis. In this environment, ABES aims to continue to ensure a dynamic and attractive environment for investments and the development of innovation in the country ”, comments Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES.

In Brazil, 15.3% of large and medium-sized companies have AI among their main IT initiatives and it is expected that this number will double in the next four years.
