"Our intention is to make Brazil a great Global Center for Research and Development. Agreements signed with large companies such as EMC will leverage strategic sectors for the country", says Virgilio Almeida, secretary of Information Technology Policy at MCTI .

Brazil is considered a strategic region for EMC and, according to the executives, it has the potential to attract and retain highly qualified professionals who will help innovate and maintain EMC's leadership in the technology industry. “EMC is honored to be one of four research centers in the IT Maior Program. We believe that our collaborative relationship will contribute to Brazil becoming a key contributor in Big Data research and an important leader in developing the world's best data scientists," said Karin Breitman.
