McAfee has entered into a new partnership with Scunna, a provider of security and IT performance solutions based in Porto Alegre (RS), to offer McAfee products as part of security-as-a-service solutions to customers.
 
The two companies have been partners for almost 20 years and now Scunna is part of the Managed Service Provider (MSP) program, which allows offering McAfee products as a service, encapsulated in its customized solutions. By bundling products with its value-added services, Scunna is responsible for remotely installing, monitoring and supporting customers, while maintaining control over product branding, licensing, warranty and pricing.
 
Marcio Kanamaru, director general of McAfee, says that Scunna is a committed partner and its certified technicians have deep knowledge about the products. “The new partnership brings several benefits to Scunna's customers, including geographic proximity to the customer, extensive knowledge about offers, quality services in installation and support, in addition to greater ease in paying and acquiring solutions”, he explains.
 
Gustavo Pauletti Gonçalves, Scunna's commercial director, comments that the company already sold some McAfee products as a service, especially endpoint solutions aimed at small and medium-sized companies. “Now our offer will be more comprehensive and mature, directed towards responding to incidents”, says Gonçalves. With this new MSP model, Scunna now offers more complex and sophisticated solutions with products such as Endpoint Detection Response (EDR), event management and security information (SIEM), McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE), among others.
 
For Gonçalves, the greatest benefit is the total flexibility in terms of hiring, as the customer can increase or decrease the number of licenses from one month to the next, according to their needs. “In the case of an e-commerce, for example, that needs greater security support on commemorative dates, it is possible to create a package that meets your specific needs for these dates. In addition, with the pay-per-use model, the customer only starts paying when the service is already activated and in use”. 
 
With operations in Porto Alegre and São Paulo, Scunna is able to serve companies of all sizes and all verticals, in the South and Southeast regions.
